- Outline of the symposium
Part 1 : Report on current music therapy situations in Asia.
6 panelists will introduce current music therapy situations
in their own countries, in the areas of practice and education. (90min.)
Intermission (15 min.)
Part 2 : Problems and perspectives of music therapy in Asian countries.
(120 minutes)
To discuss the identity of Asian music therapy by recognizing the cultural context and uniqueness in the area of educational environment and practice. During part 2, the results of a questionnaire and observation for the educational institutions and national associations of the other Asian countries by Dr. Saji.

Participants: Educational institutions and academic associations of the countries of invited panelists as well as other Asian countries.

“Asian Symposium of Music Therapy” will be published as a Special Feature article in the Journal of JMT in the 2009 fiscal year.The Journal will be sent to each panelist as a gift.
